Lab is the academy’s laboratory. This is where students conduct their methodical research and where they can perform in-depth experiments. Lab teaches students abstract thinking and encourages an analytical approach. Students perform experiments using their personal research method, which can be scientific as well as intuitive, but which is always recorded to ensure it can be reapplied. They test new materials and techniques; technology is stripped of its mystique. Lab students enjoy pushing the limits and looking beyond the familiar. The focus in Lab is on the interaction between the maker, the product and the user.
