As an Identity student you possess ‘antennae’ for signs of activity beneath the surface of everyday life. You are curious about everything new in the world around you, and you learn to spot those influences that will impact the tastes and styles of tomorrow. You can sense the way people will want to live in the future and you are able to visualise the shapes and materials needed to achieve it. You have a natural feel for what is in, what is unique and what is outrageous.
Where will you, the ‘Man and Identity’ student, end up as a professional? You will for example become involved in projects at the outset, helping to develop strategies and to determine image and mood. As a trend forecaster, you will inspire and support other designers and manufacturers in the fields of fashion and interiors.
Special areas of interest are colours, fabrics, patterns and accessories. In the final stages of the design process, ‘Man and Identity’ designers help craft the image of a product. Styling, photography, cinema and visual merchandising are typical favourites of professionals in this direction.
