How do people personalize a space so that they will feel at home in it? How do people achieve a sense of connection to their surroundings? And what  determines the quality of our living environment? The Living department focuses on those products and services that determine the living environment. The things people need to be able to live and that will make sense of living in a set of surroundings.

Students in the Living department will be open to their own surroundings, to the world around them, and they will develop a discerning view on everyday things, both today and in the future. You will be interested in finding out how products can hold significance for people, how a space will perform, and how people move around within a space.
Within the assignments we will encourage you to think big and to think small. This applies to architecture as well as to products, with mood, material and colour playing important roles. This means that our assignments will appeal both to your rational and your intuitive qualities. Besides the conceptual approach, we promote a mentality of creating as much as we can. By implementing many of your ideas, you will develop your own personal signature.
