As a child Tristan Girard spent many hours in his grandfather’s garden, and became fascinated by the ways humans either control, or embrace natural processes. Many years later this phenomenon offered many challenges to Girard, who tried to discover the hidden potentialities of wood and its residues. He experimented both with the raw material and with various ways to copy its features by means of new media. The result is a series of semi-functional objects in which nature and culture seem to merge.
