Why apply to Design Academy Eindhoven

At Design Academy Eindhoven, you’ll join an interdisciplinary community where designers explore ideas through research, making and conversation. We look for curious applicants who enjoy experimenting, thinking critically and reflecting on the world. If that sounds like you, we’d love to see your work.

Learn all you need to know to become part of our MA programmes.

Prospective students must have completed a course in higher education to BA level or equivalent, preferably in design, architecture, art or science as a minimum requirement. A MA at DAE is a two-year programme and is taught in English. The aim of all of MA courses is to further reinforce the authorship of the designer or design theorist and educate skilled, multidisciplinary collaborators. Please read all of the below information about the application process before contacting DAE with any questions.

The Foundation Year is designed for prospective students who want to explore their relationship with design and prepare themselves to apply for to study on the Bachelor programme.

The Pre-Master is a Saturday course for people from diverse backgrounds to develop a practical understanding of design as a research practice, in preparation for one of the five master’s departments.

The Design Academy Eindhoven student body has an international orientation. Approximately 70 percent of Bachelor students and 90 percent of Master students are from outside The Netherlands.

The tuition fees for studying at Design Academy Eindhoven (DAE) are determined annually. The statutory tuition fee is set by the Dutch government, while the institutional tuition fee is established by the DAE board and is based on the statutory rate.
