DAE Lecture Series

Design Academy Eindhoven’s Lecture Series is co-led by the student-led Lecture Series Committee (LSC), a Programme Manager (Ceola Tunstall-Behrens) and DAE’s Events Producer (Carline Zoete). It brings leading practitioners from the field of design – as well as practitioners from other disciplines such as art, architecture, craft, curation, education, the humanities and science – to DAE to share their ideas and work with the students and public.

Recent topics include designing collectively, designing in public space, the performing body, computational design and sensory-emotional, spatial and cognitive experiences of sound. The series was created in 2018 and has increased its output to an average of fourteen lectures per academic year.

The aim of the Lecture Series is to identify inspiring speakers from a diverse range of backgrounds and disciplines, to invite new perspectives into the Academy and to create a platform for the sharing of different types of knowledge.

The LSC is a group of current Bachelor and Master students from DAE. Each academic year, the committee invites students across DAE to share their dream line-up of speakers. Along with their own suggestions, they then invite and programme a series of speakers. They also co-run the whole Lecture Series programme, and lead on designing the lecture posters, hosting and moderating lectures and making photo and video documentation.
