Are We Going In Circles?
A curated series of discussions presented by the Master programme of DAE during Milan Design Week 2025
Are we designing the future or repeating the past? Are we truly innovating or trapped in cycles of unsustainable production, outdated methodologies, and superficial change? “Are We Going In Circles?” is a series of talks presented by DAE’s MA programme in collaboration with KALDEWEI Luxstainable® Bathrooms at Alcova Milano. Over four days, speakers will explore four key themes: Material Culture, Cultural Ecology, Planetary Agency, and Political Bodies.
The event brings into the public sphere the reflexive conversations that typically take place within DAE’s MA Programme, which is dedicated to designing design itself. Through the lens of the four themes, participants and partners will critically examine whether the design industry is stuck in cyclical discussions and explore what it means to address contemporary challenges using design and transdisciplinary thinking. The discussions will be moderated by Ilse Meulendijks, Head of the Master’s at DAE.
