RRR (Rural Roadwater Rescue) Closing Conference
This presentation took place at the Rural Roadwater Rescue (RRR) closing conference, held in May 2025 in Eindhoven and Brussels. RRR, funded by Interreg, focuses on a transnational strategy to expand the role of roads in supporting rural water systems. While RRR emphasizes technical solutions, GO-CAWH concentrates on the social innovation strategies required for this transition.
The RRR project investigates how roads can be utilized to collect, treat, store, and distribute rainwater to serve local needs. By uniting communities, road authorities, researchers, and environmental groups, both RRR and GO-CAWH aim to develop a comprehensive strategy for creating Climate Adaptive Waterhubs—facilities designed to redistribute excess road water to meet local water demands. Once the strategy is fully developed, the subsequent phase will involve its implementation.
