Design Academy Eindhoven launch preparatory course, Design Futures: Essentials for Future Designers, with Campus MaNa.
This 14-day programme at Campus MaNa in Champignelles, France, held from July 7 to 20, 2025 is designed to be stepping stone for prospective students. It combines experimentation, reflection, and hands-on practice, culminating in a personal and original portfolio.
Campus MaNa ensures participants receive a comprehensive education that combines conceptual knowledge, creative methodology, and technical skills. Over the two weeks participants will be guided to develop a portfolio by instructors from Design Academy Eindhoven to experiment with materials and explore their own personal interests.
At first, students will question where they belong in the world, discover where their interests lie by using materials, techniques and the environment. They will also learn valuable communication skills, looking at design as not just an object based practice but as a communication tool to translate, share and contextualise information. The two weeks culminate in a portfolio ready to be submitted to a design or artistic education path.
Campus MaNa is an experimentation space for all types of creators with workshops and accommodation situated in Rural France. Campus MaNa facilities include a ceramics, wood and metal workshop. The price for the course is €3.950 and includes full board (3 meals per day), a shared or single-room accommodation, access to workshops, studios, learning materials, and scheduled activities.
The course will be run as one collective unit, regular feedback sessions and conversations between students and tutors foster a dynamic learning environment. The students will be supported by two distinct teams working in tandem. The DAE team which will consist of three people, two instructors per week. The Campus MaNa team with their own internal staff and an instructor per workshop.
This programme was developed between Campus MaNa and Design Academy Eindhoven to support individuals who are passionate about a career in design or the arts. This preparatory course helps participants prepare for their further studies by spending two weeks immersed in this summer school, focussed on portfolio development.
