The CWI-KUO working group has made several recommendations regarding research integrity and ethics. The group has reviewed the report of the Dutch Code of Scientific Integrity (NGWI) and, based on this and other documents, formulated advice. This advisory report includes the following points:
- Research Culture: How can we ensure that the topic of research integrity remains on the agenda and is a natural part of the research culture?
- Information Provision and Guidance on the Code: Is information about the code of conduct and the contact person for scientific integrity easily accessible to students and staff via the website and/or intranet of the institution?
- Education: How is this matter integrated into the educational system?
- Research Ethics: How are the ethical aspects of research addressed? Does your institution have an ethics committee, or are there plans to establish one?
