Viens glander!

Elie Seksig

Oaks are the most abundantly planted trees in Eindhoven, yet their fruits, acorns, are largely ignored. Though once a staple food, acorns have fallen out of favour in Europe and are now swept away as urban waste. Through the format of a pop-up café, Elie Seksig redistributes this overlooked gift of the trees by serving it as acorn coffee. Stations for drying, roasting, shelling, grinding and brewing, invite visitors to join the process. This project cultivates a foraging-based community around oak trees. It offers a non-commercial space where people share practices and explore new ways of urban living. With a focus on gift exchange and seasonal rhythm, ‘Viens glander!’ invites you to slow down, connect with the local landscape and have a warm cup of acorn.
