A Second Wind / LoftbOX
This ceiling-mounted storage system reimagines vertical space in compact interiors such as attics, studios or small flats. Suspended from the ceiling with rope and operated by a manual pulley mechanism, each lightweight box can be lowered and raised with ease. Constructed from recycled windsurf sails, carbon masts and rope, the boxes are durable, customisable and deeply personal. Once used to harness the power of wind and water, these materials now serve a quieter, domestic function, offering a second life to what once moved freely. Users interact with the system by unhooking the rope to access stored items, then pulling it back up to reclaim floor space. Designed to be both practical and symbolic, the system carries traces of past journeys. It is a tribute to Stefka’s father, who windsurfed in his youth. ‘A Second Wind’ is both functional and emotional, letting the remnants of adventure find rhythm in everyday life.
