Treasures of Mine

Kirsty Soutar

Jewellery pieces made with dehydrated period blood and glass challenge the stigma around periods and celebrate the body as a source of strength. The blood is preserved within soft, tactile forms that invite touch and curiosity, transforming what is often hidden into something to be worn and treasured. By embedding part of their body into each piece, Kirsty Soutar creates a deeply personal connection between material, identity and form. ‘Treasures of Mine’ reflects an ongoing exploration of fertility, heritage and the complexities of queerness. The work embraces discomfort as part of discovery, using jewellery as a space to honour the power, pain and potential of the womb. These intimate objects ask us to reconsider what we value, and why.
