Bank Robbery

Moos Geene

A fictional bank heist becomes a metaphor for the tension between creative freedom and commercial value. A full-scale installation, complete with vault, counter and oversized drill, recreates the sterile control of a bank. Driven by a love for making furniture and objects, the project confronts the discomfort of pricing work made from joy. “I love making things, but selling them often ruins the joy. How do you put a price on something made purely out of joy?”
Instead of accepting the system, Moos Geene stages a robbery where creativity reclaims control. “This installation is both blueprint and aftermath. A fictional heist to question real value: If money gets in the way of making, why not take it out of the equation?” Through this playful act of resistance, the ‘Bank Robbery’ invites reflection on labour, worth and what it means to make without compromise.
