We Resist by Glitching Our Asses
‘We Resist by Glitching Our Asses’ confronts non-consensual pornography as a pervasive form of gendered digital violence. Using the motif of the glitch as resistance to shame, the project challenges the politics of visibility and the silent violence embedded in online environments. It rejects the binary of victim and perpetrator, refusing to flatten or resolve trauma into clean narratives.
The installation features a video within an architectural structure, combining moving images, 3D animation, and sound. Partially covered with textiles, the space creates a tension between visibility and protection, inviting viewers into an intimate yet uncomfortable space. Through speculative storytelling and glitch aesthetics, the work reframes digital sexual violence to confront the smooth interfaces of the apps and platforms that mask sexist narratives as entertainment or ‘sharing’.
