Inframezzo at Milan Design Week 2026

From April 20–26, recent alumni projects from Design Academy Eindhoven are presented in Milan in a collective scenography that foregrounds this interval as both lived necessity and design strategy across processes, institutions, and practices. These works engage material, social, and ecological conditions not as fixed structures, but as environments open to pause, reflection, and intervention. Through creative resilience, reconfiguration, and alternative modes of making and knowing, the works propose subtle or radical shifts in how these conditions are understood and inhabited. 

Inframezzo names a space of possibility: a pause that does not suspend action, but redistributes it—a condition through which agency and conviviality can be rehearsed and claimed. 

Alcova returns for its eleventh edition across exceptional sites that embody Milan’s urban identity.

New, unseen spaces will open within the Baggio Military Hospital, a vast post-WW1 complex in the Primaticcio district.
