Financial matters are a fundamental part to support your living situation during your time in The Netherlands. There are several steps that will help you deal with many practical aspects as well as a number of benefits that can be of great help.

The tuition fees for studying at Design Academy Eindhoven (DAE) are determined annually. The statutory tuition fee is set by the Dutch government, while the institutional tuition fee is established by the DAE board and is based on the statutory rate.

Students wishing to study in the Netherlands need to arrange for residency matters, which include obtaining a provisional residence permit (MVV) and a residence permit.

If you are studying in the Netherlands, having health insurance is mandatory by law.​ Travel insurance alone is not sufficient.

There are a number of English friendly banks that you can open an account with. Make sure you look into the associated monthly charges with each.

Students in the Netherlands can access financial support through student finance (studiefinanciering), healthcare benefits, housing allowances, and travel discounts, depending on nationality, residence, and income.

The Graduation Fund is the financial contribution from the students of Design Academy Eindhoven towards the staging of the school’s annual Graduation Show during Dutch Design Week and the production of the Graduation Catalogue.

Study delays can result in a need to adjust financial planning. Options for this can be limited, especially for international students

Submission of an official diagnosis or documentation can be required for requests to the Examination Board such as an alternative a study programme and for other potential adjustments. The student counsellors will discuss requirements during a conversation about potential options for support. This may be a statement from an external authorised professional. Naturally, this does not apply for mobility, visual and auditory impairments. This information is treated confidentially; details are not shared with the Examination Board.

Design Academy Eindhoven participates in the NL Scholarship, supported by The Netherlands’ Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and DAE. The NL Scholarship provides a partial scholarship for the first year of your studies at Design Academy Eindhoven. The scholarship includes a stipend of € 5,000 and is awarded once for the first year of study. Please note that this scholarship covers living expenses and is not intended to cover tuition fees.
