Do you wish to apply for a BA at the Design Academy Eindhoven? Our Open Days are free for all potential students, and has no obligations whatsoever.

Next open day: to be announced

The open day takes place after the Final Exams with Graduation Projects filling our hallways. The Open Day is the way to get a taste of what the Academy is like, who our students are and what courses we offer.

We are looking for students who dare to question the world around them. Curiosity leads to creativity, after all. If you question the world around you, you probably want to know everything about your study, too. That is why we want to offer future students the chance to get to know Design Academy Eindhoven – so you can to question us about the application, courses and the school in general.

This sneak peak into life at the Academy will be made more vividly by you a tour of the Academy by a student. This will mean that you’ll get the chance to taste the atmosphere here, see the workshops and building, and chat with your peers. We will provide all the information about the 2020-2021 school year, including information about the application procedure, our education and future prospects.

But what does an Open Day look like?

This year Design Academy Eindhoven introduces Portfolio Quick Scans for students who want to apply for our Bachelor programme. During our Open Days (without signing up) you have the possibility to show your Portfolio to one of our admission members. They will give you feedback on the spot. If you are interested in this, bring your Portfolio (even if it is unfinished) with you. If you want to show you Portfolio digitally, make sure you bring your own device. During the Open Days, the Portfolio Quick Scans take place on the 2nd floor of Design Academy Eindhoven.

Please join one of the Information Talks to find out if Design Academy Eindhoven is the right school for you – get informed about our design education, your future as DAE graduate and the academy’s approach to talent.

Get to know the academy with a guided tour by a DAE student. See the workshops and the educational floors (who needs classrooms?) to get a taste of the atmosphere. One of our students will guide you around and answer any question you might have.

All you need to know about the admission procedure in one Q&A from portfolio to application form to the selection days.

Talk about personal experiences at DAE with our managerial Staff to learn how the academy can help with unique challenges such as learning disabilities or personal circumstances.

Moreover, there are three BA Experience Days in which visitors can experience how it feels to study at DAE for one full day. More information

On Tuesday, 14 January 2020, DAE will open its doors for a Talk&Tour, giving prospective graduate students the opportunity to get a sneak peek of all five of its Master's programmes. There will also be a Live Admissions. The program of the day will be published shortly.

Kicking off at 10:00, you’re welcome to join the Master’s Talk&Tour, a day where you meet the DAE Masters via tours, seminars, and talks. Tours are led by current MA students, they will show you the Academy building, including the workshops, the library and the Master Space. In-depth seminars are hosted by our departments. Join one of our meet & greets with current students or alumni, and ask them everything you want to know about studying at DAE. Staff from the student administration will be available for any practical questions regarding Visa, diplomas and the application procedure.

During this day, you will get a real taste of what it's like to study at DAE.

In the morning, you can hand in your hard-copy portfolio and motivation letter as part of our Live Admissions. Your application will then be reviewed by a number of selected tutors from each of DAE's five departments and the heads of department. If you pass this first round, you will be invited for an interview later that same day, in the afternoon. At the end of this interview, the selection committee will let you know straight away if you have been accepted.

To get a sense of what we expect from a portfolio and motivation letter, read points 6 and 8 of our Application Procedure.

Unable to make it to Eindhoven on 14 January? You can apply online!
